MediaCom TMB has appointed two board directors.
Karen Blackett, who heads the Audi car business, and Jason Theodore, who
presides over the SmithKline Beecham account, were promoted last
week.
Blackett worked for The Media Business before it merged with MediaCom in
August last year. She has also done stints at CIA Medianetwork and
Zenith, where she worked on BT’s account.
Blackett’s main client at MediaCom - the UK’s third largest agency - is
the Volkswagen brand, Audi.
The Audi team consists of associate director Ben Duhig and media
managers Abi Saunders - who has just joined MediaCom from New PHD where
she worked on Volvo - and Ian Mullins. Blackett also oversees media for
Tag Heuer Watches.
Theodore has been with the media agency since 1995. He joined from IDK
Media where he worked on the Express Newspapers account.
His biggest client is SmithKline Beecham, an account he shares with
senior planner Paul Coffee and the planner/buyers Mark Jarrett and Gary
Peace.
Theodore also heads the Jockey, Allergan and British Rail International
accounts.
Commenting on the board promotions, MediaCom’s joint managing director
Jane Ratcliffe said: ’Their can-do attitude and innovative media
solutions are an asset.’
MediaCom, has also promoted Claudine Collins as deputy to the press
director Steve Goodman in a bid to strengthen the agency’s press buying
team.
Collins will look after all MediaCom’s press clients but will focus
primarily on the VW business, which includes Audi, Seat and Skoda.
