Express Newspapers has become the latest media owner to be invited

to set up shop at the offices of Mediapolis as part of the agency’s

scheme to improve cross-industry links.

Express Newspapers will become the third media owner to take part in the

initiative, called ’In the Spotlight’, after Granada Media Sales and

Carlton UK Sales each held separate events last year.

Like the other media owners, Express Newspapers will take over a meeting

room in the agency for a week and have the opportunity to meet staff,

give talks and generally promote its services.

Sharon Hart, head of strategic planning and business development at

Express Newspapers, said she welcomed the opportunity, but declined to

give details ahead of discussions with the agency.

Dominic Stead, managing partner, marketing, at the agency, said the

initiative was proving useful for developing links with media

owners.

’Media owners have generally been running two sessions a day plus social

activities. The events have been very stimulating,’ he added.

Other media owners lining up for the initiative include News

International and IPC.
