MediaVest Leeds picks up Glen Diplex media account

LONDON – MediaVest Leeds has won the centralised media account for Glen Dimplex Cooking, the company behind the Stoves, Belling and New World cooking brands.

The appointment followed a competitive pitch against Rocket and Brilliant Media. Glen Dimplex Cooking acquired the Stoves and New World brands in 2001 to complement its existing cooking brand Belling. The centralised account is estimated to be worth around £1m annually.

Dominic Geary, a director at MediaVest Leeds, said: "This is an excellent win for us and we are very proud to be appointed on such strong cooking brands. We hope this will be the start of a long and successful partnership."

Glen Dimplex is a privately owned Irish Group that has an annual turnover of €1.3bn (£900m) and employs 8,500 people worldwide. In June it acquired UK electric showers firm Galaxy Showers.

Glen Dimplex chief executive Sean O'Driscoll said: "Entry into the UK and Irish electric showers market has been a key strategic objective for the group. The Galaxy know-how and technology, combined with the group's existing brands and customer base, give us the opportunity to create a significant business in the rapidly growing household product category."
