Manning Gottlieb Media is adding the first new partner in its
ten-year history, poaching Alison Wright, a partner at HHCL & Partners,
to join the founding partners, Colin Gottlieb and Nick Manning.
Wright’s brief is to bring innovation for clients over and above the
traditional media offering, and introduce ’creative communications
planning’ into the outfit.
MGM is still in the process of looking for a fourth partner. Initiative
Media’s Andrew Sharp was believed to be in talks with the agency
(Campaign, 2 April), but is now moving to Initiative’s New York office.
The brief for the future partner is to apply Wright’s ideas and strategy
at the statistical and modelling end of the process.
Gottlieb, the agency’s managing partner, said: ’Alison’s appointment
enables MGM to bridge the gap between creative and media agencies.’
Part of Wright’s remit is to help build brand-centred teams to work
across all disciplines. She explained: ’Building teams is vital if you
want to achieve proper integration within the agency.’ She will also
help clients develop creative briefs.
Gottlieb added: ’We have no experience of managing the creative process.
Alison’s insight will be invaluable, but bringing her in doesn’t mean
we’re about to start doing traditional creative work.’
