Manning Gottlieb Media has restructured its management and created the new post of managing director as it plans to manage growth and consolidate its UK presence.

The agency has appointed Matt James, a board director at MGM, as managing director. He will work with the managing partners and head a new operational board, with the agency's group media directors, associate directors, online heads and senior account staff reporting to him.

James will help to build a succession management for MGM, which was founded ten years ago by Colin Gottlieb and Nick Manning.

Gottlieb said: 'I want more focus on our autonomy and our brand. We chose Matt because he is young, very ambitious and full of ideas.'

James will drive MGM's internal development, work on its new-business strategy and make sure that the right structures and processes are in place for growth.
