Michael Baulk named new chairman of The Mill

The Mill has named Michael Baulk as its new chairman following a successful management buyout backed by The Carlyle Group.

The former Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO chairman and chief executive said: "Having spent the last 20 years running one of the most creative agencies in the world, the opportunity to work at one of the most creative post-production companies was too good to pass up."

Under the terms of the deal, the Mill management team, led by the chief executive, Robin Shenfield, will retain a significant share in the company, which has offices in London, New York and Los Angeles.

Baulk, who will also receive equity in the company, indicated that the inception of a fourth office in Asia-Pacific was under discussion.
