Creighton is scheduled to join Dentsu Aegis in the newly created position in the autumn, dependent upon his obligations to Mindshare.
He will be tasked with driving Dentsu Aegis’ operating model in the UK and will report to Tracy De Groose, the chief executive of Dentsu Aegis Network UK.
Creighton became chief executive of the WPP-owned media agency Mindshare in 2013, replacing Jed Glanvill. Creighton joined the agency in 2010 as chief operating officer. He was previously the managing director at i-level.
Helen McRae, the joint chief executive of EMEA at Mindshare, will run Mindshare UK alongside her European responsibilities until the UK agency hires another chief executive.
McRae said: ‘I'd like to thank Mark for his efforts over the past two years in helping to make the Mindshare UK team one of the best in our global network. I now look forward to working with that team more closely and continuing to redefine the future of media for our UK clients."
