MindShare - Britvic, PepsiCo and Mattel’s media agency - has

swelled its television buying department by taking on nine new

recruits.

Andy Zonfillo, the company’s TV buying director, has poached Grant Mizen

from rival agency MBS Media to oversee the centralised Britvic Pepsi

business, which it picked up last September.

Britvic has the UK distribution rights for PepsiCo’s drinks and spends

around pounds 18 million on TV advertising for its soft drink brands

which include Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and Pepsi Max as well as Britvic Fruit

Juices, Seven-Up and R Whites Lemonade.

In addition, Zonfillo has taken on Carolyn Soning to run the pounds 10

million Mattel UK account, which encompasses Fisher-Price and Tyco Toys

and Games.

Soning has just returned to MindShare after taking maternity leave. She

will report to Zonfillo’s right-hand TV man, the agency’s broadcast

planning director Edward Lloyd-Barnes.

The remaining seven additions to the TV buying team are graduate

trainees.

MindShare came third in Campaign’s new-business league, published last

week, having achieved a net gain of pounds 50.5 million in new accounts

last year.
