MindShare has pulled the plug on its Manchester-based office
following a string of account losses and is to merge its media business
into MediaVest Manchester.
The move will make MediaVest Manchester, a joint venture between
MediaVest and the northern media specialist’s managing partners, the
biggest regional media agency. It will take on all the remaining
MindShare North media accounts and four of MindShare’s staff.
The merger will add pounds 15 million in billings from clients such as
Holt Lloyd and Gala Bingo to MediaVest’s business base, bringing the
agency’s total billings to pounds 76.4 million according to MMS.
The decision to close the MindShare office follows a number of losses at
J. Walter Thompson in Manchester, whose media department relaunched as
MindShare’s northern base last year.
The media agency lost its Greenalls account and the Plumbs soft
furnishings business this year. Its managing director, Jill Thomas,
resigned in the summer.
