Miracle Media Group has appointed Gary Lockton, the founder of
Deepend, to be the chief executive of its North Creative division
following the collapse of Deepgroup last week.
Lockton has worked closely with Miracle Media's managing director, Mark
Robinson, the former marketing director of J. Walter Thompson, for many
North Creative is a print and multimedia design agency where Lockton
will oversee new-business development and drive the agency toward more
creatively focused digital clients.
It is not known if he will take any of Deepgroup's clients, which
include Kellogg and Panasonic, with him.
Robinson said: "Gary is an exceptionally talented individual. Having
watched him build Deepend from its foundation to the industry's
number-one interactive creative agency, I am deeply impressed by his
vision and acumen. We look forward to following the appointment of Gary
with several further appointments from the extremely talented Deepgroup

In 1999, Lockton founded and became the chief executive of Deepgroup,
setting up the digital production company Poolside and the technology
venture Backend as wholly owned subsidiaries.
Robinson added: "There is no doubt that the level of experience and
expertise that Gary brings to the company will serve to consolidate
North Creative's position in the market and steer it to the forefront of
the creative and multimedia design industry."
