WWAV Rapp Collins Media has appointed Peter Mitchell its first
deputy managing director.
Mitchell will deputise for Mike Colling, who will remain at the agency
but is spending an increasing amount of time working in his other
capacity as chief executive of the agency’s new venture, WWAV
Colling said WWAV Digital, combined with a growth in business, meant the
job of managing director could no longer be done by one person.
Mitchell will continue to oversee the clients he previously handled at
WWAV, including Capital One and the recently won Fotango contract (Media
Business 10 July).
Colling said Mitchell would also have greater responsibility across all
of the agency’s clients, and would act as ’quality control’ across the

Mitchell started his career in 1987, working in media sales at United
Newspapers and IPC Magazines. He joined WWAV Media, a division of the
direct marketing agency WWAV Rapp Collins, in 1990 as a manager. He then
moved to Mansfield Lang Direct Media.
In 1996 he was recruited to set up Optimedia’s direct media operation as
managing director, before rejoining WWAV in 1997 as the director
responsible for all media-only business.
