Morgan Stanley hunts UK agency

Morgan Stanley is looking for an agency to handle its £3.7m UK consumer advertising account after appointing Ogilvy & Mather in the US to handle its $80m (£45m) global business. O&M handles rival American Express' £20m advertising business in the UK.

Ogilvy's global work will cover the bank's corporate business, although its local agencies are likely to manage its consumer interests, depending on the market.

Leo Burnett is Morgan Stanley's incumbent UK agency, but questions arose in August when Burnett's Chicago office resigned the global investment account it had held for 17 years. Leo Burnett is likely to repitch for the UK consumer account.

Morgan Stanley UK denied any decision had been made on its UK advertising arrangements, but said it would review its plans after deciding its marketing strategy for next year.
