Mother's Argentinian creative team resigns

Mother is about to lose its Argentinian senior creative team Carlos

Bayala and Gabriela Scardaccione.

Bayala, a former creative director of Young & Rubicam in Buenos Aires,

has been asked by Wieden & Kennedy to run its Latin American


He will be based in Portland, at Wieden's global headquarters.

While at Mother, the husband and wife team has worked across a portfolio

of accounts, including the recent launch of Coca-Cola's Alive. The team

also created the tight-trousered Chris 'Christmas' Rodriguez mailing,

which has just received a D&AD nomination.

Bayala and Scardaccione moved to Mother from Buenos Aires, where they

had both spent most of their careers.

Bayala was running Y&R's creative department from 1992 to 1996, when he

moved to Graffiti DMB&B. He worked there for three years before leaving

to do a masters in fine arts and media at Slade in London.

Scardaccione joined Bates as an art director in 1992. She did a spell at

Verdino before moving to TBWA/Buenos Aires.

After a stint with Bozell, Scardaccione moved to Agulla & Baccetti, a

leading creative agency in Buenos Aires, before moving to London to

study photography and drawing at St Martins. She will depart Mother at

the same time as Bayala.

The team has won a number of international awards. Bayala's campaign for

Tulipan, which featured an elephant and ant in a bed, won five Cannes

Lions, two gold Clios and a gold in the One Show. Their ad for the

mosquito repellent Shelltox won two gold Clios and a gold Pencil in


Mother and Wieden & Kennedy refused to comment on the move.
