Movers: Appointment at Dennis Publishing

Bruce Sandell - Dennis Publishing has promoted Sandell to managing director of its consumer magazines division as part of a management rejig under the new chief executive, James Tye.

In his new role, Sandell will be responsible for Maxim, Men's Fitness, Viz and Bizarre, as well as the company's gambling titles such as Inside Edge, Poker Player and Total Gambler. Sandell was previously the group publishing director of Maxim and Men's Fitness. His promotion ends a long search for a managing director following the departure of Vivien Cotterill early last year.

Tye, the former managing director of Dennis' computing and gaming division who was made the chief executive in November, has also promoted Simon Clarke to publisher of Men's Fitness and Maxim. He was previously the publisher of Men's Fitness and associate publisher for Maxim.

Kerin O'Connor, the deputy managing director of Dennis' consumer division who jointly ran the company with the former chief executive Alistair Ramsey after Cotterill's departure, becomes the managing director of The Week and the executive director of Dennis Publishing. In the latter role, he takes on responsibility for new product development and new business.
