Bergmeijer will be responsible for the media group's titles across Europe, which includes the print and online editions of The Wall Street Journal Europe, Barron's and MarketWatch. Bergmeijer was previously the vice-president and managing director, international, for Dow Jones newswires. He replaces Jon Housman, who takes on a new role as the head of the new global classified /verticals ventures in New York. Bergmeijer, who will take up the role in March, will report to Bill Casey, the vice-president international of The Wall Street Journal.
Dow Jones & Company has appointed Michael Bergmeijer to the role of managing director of Consumer Media Group operations in Europe.
