Hayes joins from the rival Allied Domecq, where he spent nine years, most recently as the European marketing director for core brands. In his new role, he will oversee global marketing for the company's key brands Jura, Vladivar, The Dalmore and Glayva. Hayes' appointment is part of a £100 million relaunch of Whyte & MacKay's brands. Bob Brannan, Whyte & MacKay's managing director, said: "This is a significant senior appointment for us and I am delighted that we have secured someone of Richard's calibre and reputation."
