Starcom Motive has hired Julia Handy as a planner/buyer to work on
the Interbrew accounts, including Boddingtons and Vodka Source. Handy,
who joins from the broadcast department of Carat, will report to Nick
Baird, media manager. Ben Lukawski re-joins Starcom Motive as a
planner/buyer working on the NatWest and ZDnet accounts. Lukawski will
report to group head Hal Pearson. To round off the recruitment drive,
Richard Hollinge joins Starcom Motive’s new-media division Starcom
Internet Protocol as an account executive. He will work on
FTYourMoney.com, Work 24 and a selection of Interbrew accounts.
WebWeekends.co.uk, the first online directory for weekend breaks, has
hired Monica Spencer as a sales executive. Spencer previously worked for
Thomson Cruises as senior reservations executive. She will be
responsible for bringing in new clients and driving advertising
5th Element Publications, publisher of Kitchen Designer, has appointed
Cindy John ad manager. John previously worked as sales manager for
Personnel Today, the weekly HR magazine published by Reed Business
Freeserve’s advertising sales department has hired Andrew Moore as
account manager. Moore previously worked at Guardian Unlimited, where he
sold advertising space across the network of sites and was responsible
for developing opportunities presented by WAP, PDA and iTV.
Bonnie MacCallum has joined Fox Kids as a senior sales executive.
MacCallum joins from Granada Enterprises where she was a sales
executive. She started her career at Granada in 1996, working as a
marketing assistant and joining the sales team after three months. In
her new position, she will report sales manager Nick Brown.
Universal McCann Manchester has poached Helen Wallace-Edwards from CIA
Media Solutions Manchester to work as an international strategic
planner. Wallace-Edwards previously worked as a planner/buyer at CIA
Media Solutions and, before that, she was a broadcast executive at Carat
in London. In her new role, she will report to Mark James, media
Western Media has promoted Richard Stokes to account manager to work on
its Jack Daniels and nPower accounts. Stokes joined the agency two years
ago as a graduate from Leeds University. He has worked as a TV buyer on
the Vauxhall account, as a press buyer on the UDV and Tesco accounts and
also as a planner.
TDI has announced two internal promotions. Phil Rapley rises from
South-east sales manager to London sales manager. His previous position
has been filled by Tony Bigsby, formerly account executive on the
South-east sales team.
Debs Mirams has been promoted from senior sales executive to sales
manager at Granada Enterprises, replacing Gail Stuart, who is taking
maternity leave. Mirams started her career at TVS ten years ago as a
sales assistant. She will work on the key client group, reporting to
sales controller Dawn MacPhail
