What will your role involve?
My role is about bringing together all the work we do across the portfolio of sites on ANM, like the Evening Standard's site, ThisisLondon.com, and DailyMail.co.uk. The people reporting to me are the publishers of the Evening Standard's travel page, ThisisTravel, and its property web site, Homes & Property, as well as both the marketing director and sales director of ANM.
What attracted you to the role?
The role places me at the heart of all the operations within ANM. I get involved in the sales and marketing. There are four executive directors and I am still one of them.
What key learnings do you bring?
I've been in media for 15 years and I've been involved with ANM since April 2000. I am also a member of the leadership council of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), so I'm involved at industry level and am a member of the Association of Online Publishers (AOP).
What challenges face publishing online?
I think 'opportunities' is a more appropriate word - these are vast. Marketers are getting the message about the effectiveness of advertising online and not just in search.
