MUSIC VIDEOS 33: The White Stripes - I Fell in Love ...

Gondry's passion for experimentation holds no bounds and this promo, rendered in Lego, is no exception. Gondry shot live action of the band from which a pixellated off-line edit was made. Gondry's father then wrote a programme to convert the film into 3500 frames, each one represented by a different coloured block. Animators eye-matched the blocks to the images, a three-month process, then the entire thing underwent stop-frame animation. Some of the shots are incredibly detailed containing around 1,000 blocks per frame.
