National Express’ new campaign featuring David Soul is heavy on kitsch. The spot, by Isobel, shows Soul – who starred in the 70s cop show Starsky & Hutch – driving a National Express coach and singing his UK number-one song from 1977, Silver Lady. It ends with the strapline: "Way to go." The ad, part of the coach company’s wider "moments" campaign, is backed by a media spend of £7 million. It was created by Rob Fletcher and David Alexander, and directed by Olly Williams through HSI.
