- National Savings has appointed BMP DDB as the lead agency on its £10 million brand development and advertising account, with sister agency BMP Optimum handling media strategy and buying.
Walsh Trott Chick Smith, which has worked on tactical advertising for National Savings, will continue to handle project work.
BMP DDB won following a three way pitch against Leo Burnett, WCRS and M&C Saatchi.
BMP Optimum competed against Mediapolis, John Ayling & Associates, The Media Business and Walker Media for media buying, which it won despite being left off the original shortlist for that part of the media account. It fought off Leo Burnett, Mediapolis and Walker Media for the strategic account.
Christopher Moxey, commercial director of National Savings said: "We had a difficult decision to make following very strong pitches. We were looking for agencies who together would make a formidable team to help us re-position the National Savings brand and help drive forward the business."
Evans Hunt Scott and WWAV Rapp Collins have been shortlisted for National Savings direct marketing account and a result is expected shortly.
