New Hungry Man arm to focus on content

The production company Hungry Man has launched a content arm called Hungry Man Entertainment.

The new Hungry Man division will be based in New York, but will use the production company's US and UK directors to develop film and television projects. Mark Grande, the former Howard Stern director of development, will head the division.

In addition to mainstream entertainment projects, HME will also launch a web channel featuring original programming, written, produced and directed by the company's roster. The premiere series will be Bryan Buckley's Undercover Cheerleaders.

The launch comes as Jim Jenkins, one of Hungry Man's best-known directors, leaves the company to launch his own outfit, called O Positive.

Jenkins' reel includes the Ogilvy & Mather-created "one hour photo" spot for American Express starring the film director Martin Scorsese, as well as the recent Geek Squad campaign through Crispin Porter & Bogusky.
