New Look kicks off media task review

New Look, the high-street clothing retailer, has been approaching media agencies to pitch for its media planning and buying account.

New Look, which spent £2.5 million on media last year, is seeking an agency to help it compete with rivals such as H&M and Topshop.

New Look worked with Naked for media strategy and planning, and John Ayling & Associates for media buying, but that ended in February when it decided to place all of its retained agencies on project-based agreements.

These changes came after the marketing director, Guy Lister, joined from River Island at the start of the year.

New Look's creative agency, Odd, was also put on a project agreement in February, but has since ended the relationship owing to client conflicts. It is now likely New Look will hold a pitch for its creative account.

The retailer has focused its brand activity around celebrity endorsements, but has not launched any above-the-line activity so far this year.
