Reebok is launching a multilingual European web site in an attempt

to increase brand awareness in its individual markets. The firm is also

in the early stages of planning to sell products from its web site.

Hamish Thomson, Reebok European communications director, said: ’We are a

global brand and (internet) users in Europe need more detail on what

product lines we have in each market.’

The site, located at www.europe.reebok.com, will be aimed at sports and

fitness enthusiasts and will include local events in each market. It

will also offer personal training advice and complement Reebok’s global

web site, www.reebok.com.

Thomson said that next year the company will explore e-commerce

opportunities.

This could involve a trial with a major pan-European retailer.

The site will be available in English, French, Italian, Spanish and

German.

Other markets will be added in coming months, including Greece and

Turkey.
