Lastminute.com maintains its lead at the top of the travel table.

In the UK online travel market, worth an estimated £2 billion according to Forrester Research, Lastminute.com is one of the few profitable operators.

Last year, it moved into profit for the first time, making £302,000 for the July-to-September period. It also saw the value of transactions on its site rise 140 per cent year on year for the fourth quarter to £112.4 million. Its growth plans were boosted last summer by the purchase of its rival, Travel Price.
