Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO has extended its relationship with Pizza Hut by
landing the role of lead agency on its pounds 35 million pan-European
Abbott Mead’s task will be to create advertising and co-ordinate media
activity in 31 countries where the PepsiCo-owned chain has more than 800
The new assignment complements the pounds 5 million UK Pizza Hut
business, which has been with Abbott Mead since February 1995. The BBDO
network already handles the business in Australia, Canada and several
smaller European markets.
Todd Martin, vice-president of marketing for PepsiCo Restaurants
International Europe, said: ‘This serves to strengthen the growing
relationship we have with BBDO on a worldwide basis.’
Pizza Hut has translated a 5 per cent decline into an average growth
rate of 30 per cent since the launch of its first pan-European
commercial, starring the supermodels, Cindy Crawford and Linda
Evangelista, earlier this year.
