Bean MC has been hired by Voluntary Services Overseas to create a major
branding campaign. The account was won after a three-way pitch involving
TBWA and Little Leighton Sobczyk.
VSO is a registered charity which sends skilled volunteers to work in
developing countries.
The organisation has been galvanised into raising its national profile
following research last year, which showed that it has prompted
awareness of only 24 per cent. It also faces problems with outdated
perceptions of its work.
The media account has been won by Equinox Communications. Its chief
executive, Simon Mathews, said: ‘Our job is to make VSO’s modest budget
work hard by using a variety of creative media solutions.’
VSO already spends around pounds 30,000 a year on PR, and in the past
has used the Communications Partnership for recruitment ads and
Solutions by Design for sponsorship and PR.
