BMP DDB releases its first work for Bud Ice next week, with a national

press campaign aimed squarely at the youth market.

The brief for the ad, which will appear in the style press and men’s

magazines during October and November, was to establish Bud Ice as the

‘ultimate youth bottled-lager for big nights out’.

Designed as a spoof road sign, the ad warns, ‘Caution. Bud Ice’, and

shows a figure slipping over inside a warning triangle.

The ad was written by Tim Charlesworth and art directed by Michael

Kaplan, the creative team who devised the Walkers Salt ’n’ Lineker

crisps ad featuring a tearful Paul Gascoigne.

BMP has also created a new commercial for the main Budweiser brand,

using the strapline: ‘The genuine article.’ It shows a man reminiscing

about events from his past, which we are led to believe revolve around a

woman. Towards the end of the film it becomes clear that he’s dreaming

about an old car that he used to own.
