BMP Solutions in Media, the separately branded UK media operation within
BMP DDB, has picked up around pounds 3 million of new business from the
Switzerland-based suncare manufacturer, Greiter International.
The win covers two main Johnson and Johnson-owned brands - Piz Buin, the
high-protection suncream, which is popular with skiers, and the new J&J
Suncare range, which will be launched in the UK this summer.
A campaign for Piz Buin, created by Mellors Reay, is currently being
booked by CIA Medianetwork, although this will be its last work for the
brand. The switch to BMP, which handles the pounds 16 million
centralised media account for J&J in the UK, was instigated by Greiter’s
international marketing and sales director, Paolo Alberti.
Alberti said the decision did not reflect badly on CIA, adding that it
made sense to consolidate all of J&J’s media into BMP to attain
‘synergies and discounts’.
Piz Buin, which is moving on to TV for the first time this year, is
likely to have an adspend of more than pounds 1 million. Suncare, the
creative work for which will be handled by Ammirati Puris Lintas, is
expected to have a spend of around pounds 1.5 million in its first year.
Paul Taylor, the joint media director of BMP DDB and media director of
BMP Solutions in Media, said: ‘Winning business from existing clients
continues to be a major source of new business for us.’
