Racist metaphors

Racist metaphors

To last week’s question, ‘Are images such as a Dalmatian shaking off its

spots in a Persil ad ‘racist metaphors’?’, we recorded an overwhelming

86 per cent ‘no’ vote (122 calls), with only 14 per cent voting ‘yes’

(20 calls).

The Campaign Phone Poll

Each week, in association with the automated telemarketing company,

Broadsystem, we pose a topical question and ask readers to phone in. The

response is published in the following week’s issue.

Calls are made using the 0990 code and last about 12 seconds. Each call

costs around 2p. The lines will close at 4pm on Monday.

This week’s question

In light of the Advertising Standards Authority’s initiative of asking

the industry for an opinion on its performance, ‘Do you think it is

doing a good job?’

0990 200 561 for Yes

0990 200 562 for No
