Carat International has kicked off its drive to broaden client

relationships beyond traditional media by hiring a senior TV marketer as

its new head of client services.

Carat has poached Martyn Rattle, the marketing and development director

of the ITV sales house, Laser Sales, to take up the new role of client

services director.

Rattle joins Carat International with a brief to oversee some of the

group’s largest clients, and will add a greater emphasis to client

management and the strategic planning process across the company’s

entire portfolio.

Graham Brown, managing director of Carat International, commented: ‘Many

of our clients are looking at their businesses on a macro level and

we’re being invited to get involved with them in a way which goes beyond

traditional media. Martyn will give us an edge through his understanding

of the marketing process.’

Carat International is the multinational client servicing and

international media planning and buying arm of the Carat Group. Since it

was formed in May, Brown has been planning a number of management

changes to improve communications strategy at a European level.
