Concord, the poster-buying specialist, has held what it claims is the

first platform for major poster contractors to exhibit their products

and discuss their plans for the future.

Concord joined forces with the Central Office of Information to hold a

workshop for government departments and their agencies.

More than 20 government departments, including Trade and Industry, the

Home Office and the Inland Revenue, were represented, as were the COI’s

roster agencies such as Saatchi and Saatchi, Leo Burnett and BMP DDB.

Four major roadside contractors were invited to display their models for

improving the visibility and flexibility of the humble poster hoarding.

Maiden Roadside, Mills and Allen, the More Group and J. C. Decaux

appeared on the same platform to talk about the benefits of the outdoor

medium in a fragmented media marketplace and the implications of

technological developments.

Karen Pearce, head of media and production at the COI, said that the

idea was to showcase the medium: ‘It was an opportunity to have a look

at the innovations going on within outdoor.’
