Kanter will be responsible for overseeing brand planning, and media and advertising strategy for both titles, reporting to Times Newspapers marketing director Andrew Mullins.
At BBH, Kanter worked on accounts including Gordon's Gin and the World Gold Council. Before that, he spent six years at FMCG giant Unilever as senior brand manager on Physio Sport.
Toby Price has been appointed customer relationship marketing manager to focus on the future strategy direction of Times Newspaper's subscription programme and create a new direct marketing strategy.
Price joins from below-the-line agency Liquid Communications where he was partnership director, responsible for developing relationship programmes. Before that he worked at Euro RSCG in Sydney, Australia as senior account director.
Mullins said: "After years of over-reliance on short-term fixes, newspaper brands are starting to shift their attention on to product innovation and affinity-based communications. There has been considerable change at The Times and The Sunday Times over the past 18 months, with new brand campaigns and editorial offerings, and the two new roles in the marketing department will support these developments."
