David Lavelle, one of TBWA’s senior account directors, is returning to his native Yorkshire to fill the newly created role of client services director at the Brahm agency in Leeds.

David Lavelle, one of TBWA’s senior account directors, is returning to

his native Yorkshire to fill the newly created role of client services

director at the Brahm agency in Leeds.

Brahm sees the hiring within the context of putting its next generation

of senior management in place.

Lavelle, 36, is currently responsible for TBWA’s Direct Line insurance,

British Gas, InterCity and Anglian Water business.

His brief at the pounds 17 million-billing Brahm will be to improve the

performance of the agency’s account handlers, extend business from

existing clients and win new business.

At present, Brahm’s client service responsibilities are split between

Mike Baxandall and Tony Handley, two of the directors who helped found

the agency in 1984.

Handley said: ‘All the partners are of mature years and it’s important

we look to the agency’s long-term future. David comes into an agency

that is run almost like a family business and it’s been a hell of a job

finding someone who understands the culture and can develop it.’

Lavelle began his career in the marketing department of Barclays, before

joining KHBB. He joined Hoare Wilkins in October 1993 and remained with

the agency when it merged with TBWA the following year.
