Mike Gilmour, one of Britain’s best-known commercials producers, has
resigned as the managing director of James Garrett and Partners to
launch a UK start-up for one of the leading US production consultants,
Bird Bonette and Stauderman.
Gilmour, who leaves Garretts at the end of April, will be succeeded by
Gerald Berman, who arrived from South Africa ten years ago.
James Garrett, the company’s founder, commented: ‘Mike is leaving behind
not just effective attitudes and systems but a team of people,
particularly directors and producers, who are committed and relevant to
the evolving needs of the commercials production business.’
Gilmour said: ‘The ethos of BBS’s consultancy is an early involvement in
the total production process, a relentless quest for value, working
alongside both agencies and production companies in a debate on the key
production issues. It is a service that does not really exist here in
the UK. But from early May it will.’
