The Media Business is understood to have scooped the business for the

Scotsman,

Scotland on Sunday and the Edinburgh Evening News, following a

competitive pitch.

The win, which was tipped by Campaign (23 February), gives the Media

Business around pounds 500,000 worth of extra billings, most of which

was previously handled by FB Media Direction.

The appointment comes after the Media Business pitched earlier this year

alongside the Scottish agency, Smarts Advertising, for the Scotsman

business. In the event, this went to the Leith Agency, while Scotland on

Sunday stayed with Smarts.

The Media Business picks up the work as the Scotsman prepares for a

branding campaign, with the title returning to TV advertising for the

first time in five years as part of an effort to see off competition

from English papers.

Denise West, the sales promotion manager at the Scotsman, was

unavailable for comment. The Media Business would neither confirm or

deny the win.
