Scottish Amicable has shifted its pounds 3 million media account out of
BMP DDB Needham and into Lowe Howard-Spink, which already holds the
financial company’s creative account.
Lowes picked up the creative account from BMP at the start of the year,
although it retained the media planning and buying business.
Lowes is understood to have been talking to Scottish Amicable about
taking on the account on a full-service basis for some time.
Mike Smallwood, the media director of Lowes, said his media team had
demonstrated the value of a full-service approach and took the media
account without a formal pitch.
The move comes at a time when Scottish Amicable is driving home its new
media strategy of concentrating its adspend in the press. It is now
focusing its advertising on its investment planning and tax efficiencies
Lowes is expected formally to begin work on the account from the
beginning of next year.
