Sloggett Films, the commercials production company, is repositioning
itself and altering its name to incorporate two new partners - the
director, Tom Connolly, and the producer, Brock Bogaerde.
The ten-year-old company, which is named after its founder - the
director Richard Sloggett, of Holsten Pils fame - will now be known as
Sloggett Connolly Bogaerde.
Bogaerde said the name change was an important step for the shop, and
would be a more accurate reflection of the company’s talent: ‘We feel
production companies are all about their directors, and we wanted Tom’s
name above the door.’
Bogaerde, who becomes the managing director, joined the company three
years ago from James Garrett and Partners, where he was a producer. He
added: ‘Richard will still be directing here - he’s like an anchor for
all of us.’
Connolly, 29, joined the Sloggetts roster in 1995 having previously
directed ads through the now defunct Swan Films. He is best known for
his Carlsberg Pub Cup vignettes, plus spots for the Midland Bank and the
AA. He has also completed several short films.
At the same time, Sloggetts has promoted its production manager, Sara
Cummins, to producer. Cummins will jointly produce for Richard Sloggett
and Tom Connolly, as will Bogaerde.
