Team Saatchi has strengthened its links with the Department of Trade and
Industry following the Government’s decision to extend a pounds 35
million, four-year programme to promote IT literacy.
The agency was originally retained last year to create and manage the
branding of the Information Society Initiative aimed at businesses.
Seeking to encourage take-up of information and communication
technologies by UK firms, it showed how technologies such as e-mail, the
Internet and video conferencing can help businesses improve their
competitive edge.
Now, following a Government press conference on Wednesday to launch the
Green Paper on technology, the agency has been briefed to create and
manage the ISI initiative as a single overall brand to be used in
business and consumer areas as well as the electronic delivery of
government services.
Sources suggest that government services may operate in future under the
catch-all banner of Government Direct.
