TMD Carat has snatched the pounds 2 million media planning and buying

account for Pearson New Entertainment, the multimedia division of the

media and leisure conglomerate, Pearson.

TMD scooped the business after a pitch against two un-named media

companies and will now provide a media service across all PNE

activities.

PNE’s media interests include a range of print magazines, video

cassettes, CD-Rom publishing and online services. The company now has

plans to extend its share of the growing pre-recorded video market. Its

range of titles currently includes Frank Skinner, Viz Top Tips and

Fantasy Football. Ad budgets are also expected to be increased over the

coming year.

Mike Andrews, the general manager of PNE, said that TMD’s ‘knowledge of

the entertainment market and new media opportunities, together with its

energy and overall strategy, stood out’. TMD has extensive experience of

the home video market through its client, Warner Video.

Mark Craze, the managing director of TMD, said that he was delighted to

be working with a company that had ‘such ambitious plans and such growth

potential’.
