Walsh Trott Chick Smith has bolstered its management team by hiring two

senior account directors to take charge of some of its biggest pieces of

business.

Barnaby Wynter joins from Mellors Reay and Partners to run Toshiba, and

Fiona Houslip has been drafted in from GGT to assume responsibility for

Talk Radio and the Sunday Express, following the agency’s appointment in

April to handle creative work on the newspaper’s pounds 6 million

account.

The signings reflect the policy of Amanda Walsh, the agency’s managing

partner, of having a small but experienced team of senior managers

working directly with clients.

‘Our aim is to find people with the talent to run large pieces of

business on their own,’ she said. ‘Clients prefer to work with senior

and dedicated staffers rather than several layers of agency management.

Barnaby and Fiona are not only strategically bright but incredibly

buttoned down.’

By joining Walsh Trott, Wynter renews his working relationship with

Dragana Hartley, the former Mellors Reay joint managing director, who

took a senior management job at the agency earlier this year (Campaign,

24 May).
