Newscom finance division to launch Strategic Risk title

Southern Magazines, the financial magazine publishing division of Newscom, is to launch a title for risk management decision-makers.

Southern Magazines, the financial magazine publishing division of

Newscom, is to launch a title for risk management decision-makers.

Strategic Risk, out of 1 June, will target professionals who deal with

risk issues at a strategic level.

Southern believes there is a need for a magazine that helps company

directors understand their responsibilities resulting from new corporate

governance rules.

The closest rival in the market is Informa’s International Risk

Management, which Southern claims is aimed at risk management

specialists rather than directors.

An advertisement manager will be appointed shortly.

The first issue was sold jointly by the sales teams of two sister

titles, Global Reinsurance and Insurance Times.

The 100-page first issue carries 30 ad pages from financial services

advertisers such as CGU, Royal & SunAlliance, Independent Insurance and

Norwich Union.

Strategic Risk will be sent to a controlled circulation list of 15,000.

It will be published quarterly but may become bi-monthly and expand

overseas in March next year.
