Southern Magazines, the financial magazine publishing division of
Newscom, is to launch a title for risk management decision-makers.
Strategic Risk, out of 1 June, will target professionals who deal with
risk issues at a strategic level.
Southern believes there is a need for a magazine that helps company
directors understand their responsibilities resulting from new corporate
The closest rival in the market is Informa’s International Risk
Management, which Southern claims is aimed at risk management
specialists rather than directors.
An advertisement manager will be appointed shortly.
The first issue was sold jointly by the sales teams of two sister
titles, Global Reinsurance and Insurance Times.
The 100-page first issue carries 30 ad pages from financial services
advertisers such as CGU, Royal & SunAlliance, Independent Insurance and
Strategic Risk will be sent to a controlled circulation list of 15,000.
It will be published quarterly but may become bi-monthly and expand
overseas in March next year.
