NewsNow unveils portal concentrating on World Cup

LONDON - NewsNow has launched a microsite portal dedicated to the 2006 World Cup 2006.

The site will have information from thousands of sources spanning from national news coverage of the tournament to Fifa.

Visitors to NewsNow will be able to scan the site for headlines from around the world and click through to the original source.

Football fans can use the microsite to receive breaking news every five minutes. Information on the tournament, matches, teams and individual players can be found on the site obtained from every recognisable football news brand.

Struan Bartlett, chairman of NewsNow, said: "Over the past months we've witnessed World Cup fever rising -- a growing interest in anything and everything Cup related. In order to address our users and advertisers' demands alike, we decided to dedicate our first microsite entirely to the 2006 World Cup.

"If ever there was a need for a news portal that monitors breaking World Cup news from thousands of sources from all over the world-wide we, it is now."

Among advertisers already signed up are MasterCard, McDonald's and Sky.
