Nokia Siemens in hunt for ad agency

Nokia Siemens Networks has begun a search for an advertising agency to handle an above-the-line business-to-business campaign.

The infrastructure company has approached a number of UK agencies with a brief to create a global corporate campaign to launch next year.

The campaign will be the first from the telecoms giant since it formed earlier this year. It is also looking for a media agency to roll out the campaign internationally.

Grey London handles the advertising duties for Nokia's range of mobile handsets, while McCann Erickson London handles Siemens' mobile phones, which are now branded BenQ.

Nokia Siemens Networks was created in June when the two telecoms giants decided to merge their mobile and fixed-line phone network equipment businesses.

This merger comes after the tie-up between the French phone equipment manufacturer Alcatel and the US manufacturer Lucent Technologies in April.

Last week, Euro RSCG emerged as the victor in a competitive pitch for the merged Alcatel Lucent account.
