Npower and Anglian Group join Telemarketing Association

LONDON – The Telemarketing Association, which was created last August to lobby for a complete review of the Telephone Preference Service, has revealed its list of eight founding members.

Headed by energy provider Npower and home improvement company Anglian, the list also includes Amcat, Broadsystem, IP Centrex, Phone Intelligence, Mortgage Advice Services and Direct Response. These companies will form the association's steering party.

Richard Webster, chairman of the TMA and group data director at Data Locator, said: "The companies who have joined forces with us are all recognised names in the outbound telemarketing industry and our concerns and objectives are intrinsically linked.

"It is only by working together that we can fight the huge issues facing the industry."

The association's primary objective is to lobby for a complete review of the TPS, which has topped 10m consumer registrations.
