Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO launched the brand’s first TV spot in February. The animated ad introduced two characters called Nut and Meg.
Before that, Nutmeg primarily used outdoor advertising at railway stations and on the London Underground. It described TV advertising as a "natural next step" as the business looked to attract a wider audience.
AMV won a brief to create a multimedia campaign for Nutmeg in February last year.
In May, Nutmeg promoted Stead, its chief revenue officer with responsibility for marketing, to chief executive. In June, Catherine Prentke, formerly digital acquisition director at American Express, joined as commercial director. Her remit includes marketing.
Before joining Nutmeg in 2015, Stead spent seven years at EDF Energy, most recently as marketing, sales and digital director.
During his time as head of brand at EDF, Stead worked with AMV, which held EDF’s creative account. The business moved to Havas London in 2014.
