Ogilvy & Mather has hired Roland Hafenrichter and Nils Andersson, a
senior creative team at Bates Dorland, as group creative directors.
Hafenrichter, 37, a copywriter, and Andersson, 38, an art director, have
worked at Bates for nine years. At O&M, they will work across the
agency’s accounts and take seats on the board.
At Dorlands, the pair have worked across a range of business, creating
television ads for Land Rover Discovery, Range Rover, Woolworth’s and
Royal Mail, and press executions for the Halifax.
Patrick Collister, O&M’s executive creative director, said: ’I’ve been
after Nils and Roland for a couple of years now. They have the ability
to make silk purses out of what many would regard as sows’ ears. I’m
looking forward to watching them win awards here.’
Hafenrichter, a photo-grapher by training, joined Dorlands from Leo
Burnett. Andersson trained as a gra-phi designer and worked at Douglas
Kelley Associates, before becoming a director of the promotions company,
Marketing Events, and then teaming up with Hafenrichter at Dorlands.
Andersson commented: ’We like the idea of a new challenge and have been
speaking to Patrick for quite a while. We get on with him really well,
and in the end we’ve taken it.’
