O&M Toronto wins top Cannes honours

Ogilvy & Mather Toronto’s Dove 'evolution' took the Grand Prix in the film category at the 2007 Cannes Lions Festival at the ceremony held on Saturday night.

However, it was an underwhelming affair for British entries with a total tally of only ten gongs. Three golds were awarded for UK work: Bartle Bogle Hegarty's "dangerous liaisons" for Levi's, Fallon's "paint" for Sony and M&C Saatchi's motorcyle safety spot for the Transport for London.

DDB London picked up silver for its "tea" spot for VW, while Mother was awarded two bronzes for Pot Noodle. The agency also won a bronze for its "Michael Madsen" Orange commercial.

Clemmow Hornby Inge won a bronze for its "tide" ad for The Big Yellow Self Storage Company as did DFGW's "Elvis" spot for BBC Radio2. "Dangerous liaison" also won a bronze for music.

The Titanium Grand Prix was awarded to Crispin Porter & Bogusky's Xbox King Games work for Burger King, while VegaOlmosPonce Argentina took the Grand Prix in the integrated category for its Axe 3 work for Unilever. Crispin Porter was also named Interactive Agency of the Year.

The Palme D'Or was awarded to Smuggler USA, while agency of the year was Saatchi & Saatchi New York. DDB London was runner up agency of the year. BBDO was named Network of the Year, with DDB runner up and Saatchi & Saatchi taking third place.

OMD USA was Media Agency of the Year, while Skackleton Madrid became Direct Agency of the Year.
