The agency has been asked to repitch for the account, and O2 will work with ISBA to select other agencies to vie for the account.

The work covers strategic digital planning, social media requirements, creative development, website build across all brand and direct response acquisition communications.

Shadi Halliwell, O2 head of brand marketing said: "As our business and customers evolve, it’s time to review our requirements to ensure we are working with best partners in the industry and to continue our leadership position in the digital sphere.

"We want to ensure we have the best in class agencies delivering groundbreaking digital activity and strategy."

Matt Kwiecinski, managing director of Agency Republic, said: "We are incredibly proud of the work O2 and Agency Republic have delivered over the last eight years and we’re confident that is just the beginning."

Digital media planning and buying responsiblities are outside the scope of the digital marketing review, and will be retained by Zenith Optimedia.
