More O'Ferrall to be renamed in wake of Clear Channel deal

More O'Ferrall outdoor sites are being rebranded with the moniker of its parent company, Clear Channel, following the recent acquisition of Score Outdoor.

Clear Channel bought Score Outdoor in a £33.5 million deal in May this year and merged its billboards across Scotland and the North West, the Midlands and South West regions of England into More O'Ferrall's existing portfolio.

Clear Channel is investing £5 million in the project as part of an upgrading programme of the company's 9,000 48-sheet and 2,000 96-sheet sites. The rebranding is expected to be completed by spring next year.

More O'Ferrall is the market leader in the 96-sheet poster market with 45 per cent of all UK sites.

Clear Channel's other UK outdoor interests include the Adshel street furniture division and Taxi Media's liveried taxi advertising. It also offers advertising sites at Sainsbury's supermarkets, shopping centres and universities.

Stevie Spring, the chief executive of Clear Channel UK, said: "Clear Channel is a worldwide brand which we were looking to adopt over here as soon as we had a consistently excellent national offer.

"Merging Score with More O'Ferrall gives us just that. The new livery is striking and modern and will be another step towards making our billboard company a leading brand to sit alongside Adshel and Taxi Media."
